For Delynn Turner, healing is more than a profession—it is a calling born from lived experience.
As the Founder and Executive Director of Purposeful Visions, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Delynn has dedicated her life to helping individuals and families heal from grief, trauma, generational pain, and systemic barriers. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing begins when people are given a safe space to acknowledge their pain, break the silence, and rediscover hope.
Delynn holds a Master of Science degree, a Bachelor of Science degree, and is a Certified Specialist Grief Counselor (GDC-CSp) and Certified Life Coach (CLC). Throughout her career, she has combined professional expertise with compassion to support individuals facing life's most difficult challenges.
Inspired by her own experiences growing up in a home marked by silence, struggle, and unhealed wounds, Delynn transformed her pain into purpose. She founded Purposeful Visions to provide culturally responsive grief counseling, education, and healing resources that address the unique needs of Black and Brown communities while welcoming anyone seeking hope and restoration.
Her professional experience spans work with youth and adults within the criminal justice system, the New York City Board of Education, mental health and grief counseling, educational consulting, and advocacy for criminal justice reform. She has long championed equity, policy change, and strategic interventions that address systemic racism and disparities in healthcare, education, and the justice system.
As an author, Delynn shares her personal journey through her memoir, From Pain to Purpose, along with a growing collection of healing eBooks. Each publication encourages readers to confront difficult experiences through reflection, guided journaling, and practical tools for emotional and spiritual healing. She believes that writing our stories is often the first step toward releasing pain and embracing transformation.
Through Purposeful Visions, Delynn continues to lead with compassion by providing virtual counseling, educational resources, journaling tools, affirmations, workshops, and community outreach designed to help individuals, families, veterans, survivors of trauma, and underserved communities move toward healing and wholeness.

Our Story
Purposeful Visions was born from a deeply personal journey of grief, resilience, and hope.
Founder Delynn Turner grew up between Brooklyn and Queens, New York, where trauma, addiction, and hardship were realities that touched many families—including her own. Growing up, she witnessed the effects of unhealed emotional pain and experienced firsthand the devastating impact that grief and loss can have on individuals and entire communities.
The loss of her mother to alcohol addiction and, later, the loss of her sister to substance abuse profoundly shaped her understanding of grief. These experiences, along with countless others throughout her life, gave her an intimate understanding of what it means to carry pain while searching for healing.
As she continued her personal and professional journey, Delynn recognized another challenge that often prevents people from finding the help they need—the stigma surrounding mental health. In many communities, cultures, and even professions, people are taught to remain silent about their emotional struggles. Too often, they suffer alone rather than seeking support.
Determined to change that narrative, Delynn founded Purposeful Visions, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing grief counseling, trauma recovery support, virtual counseling, educational programs, and culturally responsive healing resources. The organization's mission is to break generational cycles of grief, trauma, and silence while helping individuals and families build resilience, emotional wellness, and hope.
Understanding that not everyone feels comfortable seeking counseling immediately, she also began writing healing resources and books, including her memoir, From Pain to Purpose. Each publication was created to provide encouragement, guided reflection, and practical tools for individuals who may not yet be ready to speak about their pain but are willing to begin their healing journey one page at a time.
Today, Purposeful Visions continues to provide grief counseling, virtual support, educational resources, healing eBooks, community outreach, and advocacy for individuals and families seeking hope, healing, and lasting transformation.
At Purposeful Visions, we believe healing begins with honesty, grows through compassion, and leads to transformation. Every story matters, every life has value, and no one should have to walk the journey toward healing alone.
"My life taught me that pain doesn't have to define your future. Healing begins the moment we choose hope over silence, and that's why Purposeful Visions exists—to walk alongside every person who is ready to begin that journey." — Delynn Turner
